Deeside scaffolder NSG clinches £3m Tata Chemical contract

SCAFFOLDING and industrial services firm NSG UK has secured a three-year maintenance contract worth £3m with chemicals giant Tata.

The Deeside-based business, which works across the UK, has been awarded the contract by Tata Chemicals Europe to provide all scaffolding works at their Northwich manufacturing sites in Winnington, Lostock and Middlewich.

Tata Chemicals Europe was formerly known as Brunner Mond, undergoing a rebrand in April after the Brunner Mond business was acquired in 2006.

NSG UK managing director Mike Carr said the £3m contract has potential for further growth.

He added: “This is fantastic news for NSG UK and is the result of a lot of hard work by the team here. We fought off significant competition in the tendering exercise to secure this contract and are delighted to be working with such a renowned multi-national firm as Tata Chemicals.”

Tata Chemicals is the world’s second largest producer of soda ash.

NSG UK provides scaffolding, painting, blasting, thermal insulation and building repairs services, with more than 40 years of experience and Mr Carr said: “As well as securing this contract and maintaining our success in the construction and engineering industries, we are also continuing to expand into a wide scope of sectors, including offshore, transport and social housing.”

The business said it has managed to increase turnover again this year and has finished its financial year end at £21m.
