BANKING group Santander is creating 100 call centre jobs at its Bootle commercial banking headquarters.
The Spanish-owned group is doubling its team of telephone business advisers to 200, in a bid to increase its support for smaller businesses.
Its business banking operation is also recruiting an extra 250 local business managers as part of the strategy.
The local business managers will be based in branches across the country to provide face-to-face and telephone support to business customers with an annual turnover of up to £250,000.
They will work with businesses to provide advice on business plans and forecasts, and will be able to direct businesses to additional advice and support available in the local area, where necessary.
The move comes as part of a re- launch of the group’s products and services available to smaller businesses.
