Employment law biggest issue on FPB legal helpline

EMPLOYMENT law was the single biggest issue for business owners calling a legal helpline run by small firms’ lobby group the Forum of Private Business (FPB).

Over a five-week period in September and October, including the October 1 common commencement date when new regulations came into force, 65% of calls were queries on employment law, dwarfing the next biggest issue, “general business enquiries”, which prompted just 14% of calls from members.

Terms and conditions of business contracts was third, with 10% of all helpline calls.
