Johnson Cleaners invests £1.2m in stores

DRY cleaning chain Johnson Cleaners is investing £1.2m across the UK as it launches a range of additional services in more than 300 of its stores.

Prescot-based Johnson is now offering a services including ironing, alterations and repairs, shoe repairs and key cutting.

Some of those services are already offered at Johnson stores and the chain says they have proved popular with customers and generated more sales.

Managing director Paul Ogle said: “This nationwide roll-out of specialised services is a major investment for the business and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to customers to provide the highest levels of convenience throughout our stores by having a range of services under one roof.

“The investment will also lead to additional training for staff as well as new equipment, ensuring we maintain the excellent standards of customer service the brand is known for.”

Some 211 stores are already included within the programme, and Johnson plans to roll it out to a further 100 locations in 2012.

Johnson Cleaners is part of the AIM-listed Johnson Service Group, which is based in Runcorn.
