Liverpool’s Positivity Club holds its first meeting

MEMBERS of Liverpool’s newly-formed Positivity Club have met for the first time with the aim of “talking up” the city region economy.

More than 20 business movers and shakers came together for the lunchtime event at the city centre Hope Street Hotel.

They included John Hall, of Professional Liverpool; Phil Mills, of Royal Bank of Scotland; and Sue Weir, of Medicash.

Organiser Chris Shirling- Rooke, of CTS Compliance, said the first meeting was a “great success” and more events and activities were planned.

He told LDP Business: “It went far better than we had hoped or expected.

“We have come together with the aim of countering the negativity that we are hearing at the moment.

“We are concerned that too many economic forecasters are drawing negative conclusions from available data, rather than recognising some encouraging signs.

“We are forming a leadership team, and one of the aims is for the members to help each other’s businesses.

“We also want to get involved in schools in the hope of offering inspiration to young people.”
