CONSTRUCTION and regeneration group Morgan Sindall said it is on course to achieve expectations for the current year.
In an annual trading update ahead of its results on February 21, 2012 the firm, which has a regional construction office on Liverpool’s Wavertree Technology Park, an affordable housing operation in its Lovell offices in Birkenhead, and design functions in Warrington, said regeneration work is providing new opportunities.
Its pipeline of work has grown from £1.4bn to £2.2bn with a further £1bn at preferred developer stage.
Although the forward order book is slightly below the £3.3bn reported at the half year, several opportunities worth £300m are at preferred bidder stage.
Construction and Infrastructure is seeing good activity, particularly in joint ventures with National Grid and a Crossrail project worth £110m.
The affordable housing division reports relatively stable conditions and saw encouragement from the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement which promised extra funds for affordable housing.
The Group said: “Although we are cautious about 2012 we believe our medium-term prospects have improved over the course of 2011.”
