SPORTING and entertainment hospitality specialist Opus Events says its annual A Question of Sporting Class event was a sell-out.
The Liverpool firm held the event at the city’s Crowne Plaza Hotel last week.
Based on the format of the BBC’s Question of Sport panel members included Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt, Leon Osman and Ian Snodin with Ricky Tomlinson and Ricky Hatton leading the teams.
It attracted 430 people and £67,000 raised from a charity auction will go to the Steven Gerrard Foundation.
This is a big increase on the £24,000 raised last year.
Opus founder Lee McPartland said the success of the event rounded off a year of growth for the company.
He said: “A Question of Sporting Class was a huge success last year.
“Even so, I was amazed by the take-up this year and to see a fairly big event such as this sell out in days is fantastic.
“Opus is still a relatively new company – however we are partnering with some fairly major national organisations and are aiming to roll out some very exciting ideas into 2012.”
Mr McPartland started the firm earlier this year and the business has seen interest and sales in its bespoke hospitality packages increase throughout the period.
