Easyjet passenger numbers continue to grow

PASSENGER levels on Easyjet rose by 13.1% last month to 4.13m, compared with December 2010, statistics showed today.

However, Easyjet said that monthly passenger figures, on an underlying basis, were 4% ahead allowing for the significant disruption caused by adverse weather in December 2010 which led to the cancellation of 2,000 flights, compared with 149 in December 2011.

The load factor, or the number of available seats sold, fell by 0.2% to 85.6% last month.

Passengers carried for the year so far show an 11.6% rise to 55.47m for the carrier, which is the biggest operator by passenger numbers at Liverpool John Lennon airport.

The load factor for the year so far shows a 0.3% improvement at 87.5%.
