WEDDING and events venue West Tower has reported record growth with turnover soaring by 50%.
The country house in Aughton, West Lancashire, saw sales rise from £1m in 2010 to £1.5m last year. During the year it held 190 events, compared to 88 in 2010.
West Tower owner Sanguine Hospitality invested £650,000 in a refurbishment of the venue in 2009. The work included the creation of a new glass-walled dining area and a honeymoon suite.
The venue’s general manager, Brian Gamble, said: “We’ve had a great year, particularly with weddings, which have grown from 78 last year to almost 150 this year. Our conversion rate from enquiries to booking is exceptional.
“Our guest feedback tells us they enjoy having sole use of the entire property and we are certainly seeing the rewards of our investment.”
