THE £25m North West Fund for Biomedical, managed by venture capital firm SPARK Impact, has made two investment deals worth £100k.
Medical devices firms ESP Technology, based in Daresbury, and Greasby-based Westco Medical, have each received £50,000 in Spark Impact’s 10th and 11th deals, respectively.
ESP Technology is developing a novel polymer coating to improve the lifespan of artificial blood vessels used for haemodialysis.
Westco Medical is working on a device to aid the positioning of feeding tubes in the stomach of hospital patients.
The biomedical fund is part of the £185m North West Fund backed by the European Investment Bank and European Regional Development Fund to nurture small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.
