American award for Merseyside marketer

A LIVERPOOL-BASED marketer at digital giant Fujitsu helped the company scoop an international marketing award.

John McKnight was one of a team of three that developed the “Enabling Field Sales to deliver Business Results” system.

It allows the company to target its marketing more effectively, to help it to win more IT service contracts.

The system won the Enabling Sales Channels title at the IT Services Marketing Association’s annual awards in Boston.

Mr McKnight said: “There is a perception that marketing is a bit abstract from the rest of the business.

“But, with this, people can see how clearly aligned we are with sales.”

Fujitsu has offices in Bootle, West Derby and Liverpool city centre. Its campus in Warrington employs some 500 people.
