WIRRAL manufacturer Meyer Group has acquired a Blackburn-based housewares supplier.
Bromborough-based Meyer designs and manufactures cookware which sells more than 100 lines in 30 countries.
It has bought JWP, a distributor of houseware and kitchenware products, supplying many blue-chip high end retailers.
Family-owned JWP was founded by chairman Jim Wilkinson, and has become known for supplying products including Lock & Lock containers and the Poachpod – a device to help cook the perfect poached egg.
The buyout was led by Blackburn advisory firm Pierce.
Under the seven-figure deal, JWP founder and chairman Jim Wilkinson and his wife Leslie, have sold the business to Meyer, with Mr Wilkinson remaining involved as a consultant.
