Bank’s guests will imbibe Haydock Park race meeting ambience

PRIVATE bank Brown Shipley has its roots firmly planted in the region.

The fact it was started in Liverpool over 200 years ago by the man who gave his name to William Brown Street and has an office in Manchester means the private bank has plenty of its clients resident in the North West.

Those connections lie behind its decision to sponsor the Owners and Trainers’ Pavilion in Haydock Park. The refurbished pavilion opens for business this weekend.

Located just a few yards from the paddock and parade yard, the bank’s guests will imbibe the full ambience of a race meeting.

Peter Collier, marketing director of Brown Shipley, said: “The horse racing owners’ world contains many who would use private banks.

“There is a of synergy for us.”

The bank has agreed to sponsor the pavilion for three years.

Mr Collier added: “We tend not to look for a lot of sports sponsorship opportunities. Instead we direct a lot of our budget towards philanthropic charitable activity.

“Racehorse owners will be mingling with Brown Shipley’s guests. It’s a hell of a day when you’re the owner of a horse which is racing.”
