LIVERPOOL is widely regarded as a centre of excellence in the UK for enterprise, knowledge and professional services.
But, amid a UK, European and global economic crisis, how will the city fare in 2012?
The Liverpool Post has teamed up with two of the city’s leading professional organisations – Cheviot Asset Management and Professional Liverpool – to get an insight into how confident business people are about the next 12 months.
Our Investment Confidence Survey will assess the views of hundreds of business people about the next 12 months. Please note - the closing date for you to submit your views is midnight on Wednesday (tomorrow).
We want to understand your views about issues such as how best to stimulate growth, where interest rates should truly sit and how confident you are about falling inflation.
We also want to know if you feel the Government is pursuing the right economic policies, and whether you’re planning to reduce or increase the number of people you employ in your business.
The survey, which is simple to complete, will provide a unique snapshot of business attitudes in the city.
Liverpool Post editor Mark Thomas said: “The prospects for the economy and for individual businesses are probably less certain today than for a generation.
“We want to check the pulse of the city’s business community to assess how much confidence there is in their prospects and in the prospects of the wider economy.”
Simon Walker, senior partner at Cheviot Asset Management, which has offices in St Paul’s Square, added: “Economic, business and investor performance is often influenced by sentiment.
“Understanding where business people see opportunities and threats will give us a fascinating insight into levels of confidence.”
And Professional Liverpool chief executive, John Hall, said: “We want individuals from every sector to take part in the survey so we can get a truly representative picture of attitudes and views. We think the findings will be extremely useful to a range of organisations and those in the public sector responsible for driving economic development.”
Completing the survey online should take only a few minutes.
