A WIRRAL electrical contractor has clinched an installation deal for a £6m new housing scheme.
Peter D Welch, part of Birkenhead-based SeaKing Electrical Group, has won the six month contract to install electrics in the Halton Housing Trust development in Widnes.
The scheme, named Naughton Fields in recognition of the area’s sporting history, will be made up of 47 two bedroom apartments.
SeaKing business development manager Neil Mellenchip said: “This latest project highlights the complete electrical service which Peter D Welch can provide.
“It is a major contract requiring specialist knowledge and expertise in a wide variety of areas.”
He added: “This will include general wiring, lighting and the installation of warden call, fire alarm and CCTV systems. In addition, data and telephone lines are also being installed throughout the building.”
The Halton Housing Trust development will cater for people aged 55 and over with a mix of care and support needs.
As well as apartments for sale and rent, the scheme will include facilities such as a lounge and bistro area, office space, a hair and beauty salon and spa and therapy areas.
Mr Mellenchip said: “We hope this latest success will act as a springboard to secure further work in this sector.”
The “extra care” aspect of the development has been supported through investment from the Homes and Communities Agency and Halton council.
