MEDICASH, the Liverpool-based health cash plan (HCP) provider, is targeting new opportunities in London and the south of England after appointing a broker development manager.
Surrey-based Damon Grant, 44, has joined the 140- year-old Derby Square company with more than 20 years’ experience gained working for private healthcare group Bupa.
He will work to increase awareness of the Medicash brand and its company-paid plans across the South East, and his appointment follows the success of a similar arrangement in Manchester under broker development manager Russell Upton.
Medicash recently celebrated its most successful year for new sales of cash plans to businesses.
In the 12 months to December 31, the firm increased the number of its employer-paid policyholders by almost 100%.
Sue Weir, Medicash chief executive, said: “We are delighted to welcome Damon to our team.
“Over the last few years, intermediaries have become an important market to target for HCP providers, with growth in the sales of company-paid HCP’s across the UK being driven by the more proactive approach of brokers to sell HCP products to their clients.”
