A NEW partnership is working to get Wirral’s unemployed back in to work.
Wirral Metropolitan College, Job Centre Plus and local employers have combined to identify ‘skilled up’ candidates for jobs.
A two-week pre-employment scheme at Wirral Met’s Learning Shop in the Grange and Pyramids Shopping Centre in Birkenhead teaches learners job skills like CV writing and how to present themselves in the workplace.
College spokeswoman Tracey Sheriff explained: “The employers have to commit to giving everyone an interview. And for their part, the candidates have to commit to the fortnight by doing everything required of them.”
