YOU may have read earlier in this week’s Post an interview with Steve Jones, joint managing director of Fairbanks.
The Skelmers-dale-based firm operates in petrol stations across the UK and the world testing for leaks and theft.
Steve, who is something of an IT expert, has just reached a half century but still has rock ’n’ roll in his soul, playing in a local rock band.
And he also regularly bows his own trumpet – or trombone, to be precise – in the Maghull Wind Orchestra.
Steve, below, is married to dentist Ruth and he insisted that we mentioned that she’s very proud to be one of the dwindling number of NHS dentists remaining in the UK.
The couple have three children – Bridget, 20, Maria, 18, and Phil, 15, and Steve revealed the eldest was named just weeks before Helen Fielding’s now world-famous novel-turned movie, Bridget Jones’s Diary, was published.
“She’s never heard the last of it since,” he told Trading Gossip.
