Derek was one of the key figures in persuading the board at Charles Stanley to open up a Liverpool office back in 2010, and told the Post the trading floor in the Chapel Street branch is here to stay.
He said: “We’re here as part of a long term strategy, and our aim is to be profitable and stay here for years to come.”
The firm opened up in Merseyside the midst of a recession, but a forward-looking philosophy and knowledge of the local investment market will pay dividends, Derek insists: “Stock markets are predictors of the future, not reactors to the past.
“Liverpool is the second-largest wealth management area in the UK outside London, and Charles Stanley are a long term presence here.”
