A WIRRAL call centre operator is to create 300 new jobs after winning a contract with a major financial services provider.
The Contact Company (TCC) has struck a deal with Advanced Payment Solutions (APS) to set up a customer services operation in Birkenhead.
TCC, which already employs more than 600 people, will be recruiting the new staff over the next three years.
APS runs the Cashplus portfolio of electronic banking and payment products and is targeting local authorities in a bid to grow its business.
The firm has grown from a simple prepaid card company to an alternative to high street banking.
It is relocating its customer services centre from Romania.
Chief executive Richard Wagner, said: “We’re bringing our call centre to Merseyside to help the UK economy.
“Our customer satisfaction levels are very high at 94%.However as we grow we want to ensure that all our customers, from consumers and businesses to government authorities, continue to receive the same high standard of support and attention.”
TCC was launched by directors Asif Hamid and Juliet Rhodes in 2006 and since then has grown rapidly.
It now offers call centre services to a number of large corporates including Superdrug, the BBC and River Island and has won several business awards.
Mr Hamid, who is chief executive of the firm, said of the latest deal: “The Merseyside region continues to be a great place to provide well-trained staff to serve UK customers.
“At TCC we are excited to provide a respected financial services company, like APS, a superior service solution that brings value to its customers.”
Mr Hamid added the company already had 20 staff working on the contract and said more people would be taken on after Christmas.
“Companies are now bringing their call centres back to the UK because of the rising costs offshore and because they want to add value to their customer service,” he said.
“We have show here that we have a great team that delivers a fantastic customer service.”
