DANIELLE HIGGINS cheerfully admits that she was one of those annoying kids in school who was good at every single sport she tried.
She put that natural ability to good use shortly after leaving school at 16 when she qualified as a fitness instructor.
“I was the youngest on the course,” she said.
Now, at 23, she is demonstrating she has talents well beyond the realms of physical fitness.
Ms Higgins runs the recently-opened Olympus Health Club and Spa in Liverpool city centre.
Based in Hatton Garden, the spa has an ancient Greek theme and offers the range of facilities you would expect from a health club.
It has a fully-equipped gym, a programme of fitness classes, including hot yoga, as well as personal training.
For members feeling less energetic if offers a steam room, sunken bath and a “chill-out zone”.
Ms Higgins is general manager of the business but her role in its development and launch goes ways past that of a hired employee.
She explained: “I bumped into the owner last year through a friend and he just happened to mention in passing that he was thinking of opening a gym.
“I had been working as a personal trainer since I was 16 and it had always been my dream to open my own place.
“I had all these wonderful ideas about what it would look like and what it would offer.”
