THE second part of the shortlist for the Liverpool Daily Post’s regional business awards has today been unveiled.
Another nine companies join those announced last week as being in the running for the awards, which will be held at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral on Thursday, May 27.
The KPMG Business of the Year award, won last year by resurgent shipbuilders Cammell Laird, is for the region’s outstanding large business, employing more than 250 people.
This year, wealth management firm Rensburg Sheppards will compete with retailers Shop Direct and TJ Morris for the award.
B&M Waste Services, Liverpool One Management Company and The Printroom UK are in contention for the Liverpool Hope University Green Award.
Painting and decorating firm Roy Hankinson Group last year found a way of recycling 50,000 used paint tins a year, and judges will choose the firm that has made a similarly positive contribution to the environment.
The KLM Export Business of the Year has the Birkenhead manufacturer of electrical varnishes and resins, AEV, up against ColorMatrix, in Knowsley, which produces colourants and additives for the plastics industry, and chemicals firm RS Clare, which is one of Liverpool’s oldest companies.
