WE FEAR Sutton Kersh property auctioneer Andrew Binstock’s head might be too big to get through the door of Liverpool’s Marriott Hotel next month.
Andrew will preside over the firm’s next event in April, but in the meantime he has been mixing in mightier company.
He took to the stage with Hollywood star Eva Longoria Parker, pictured below, at the Noble Gift Gala Dinner, to host an exclusive auction in aid of The Make a Wish Foundation and Eva’s Heroes Foundation.
The black tie event, which was supported by Prince Azim of Brunei, was held at London’s swish Dorchester Hotel.
Andrew joined the Desperate Housewives star to offer lots that included a one-hour tennis lesson with Greg Rusedski, a diamond-encrusted Blackberry mobile phone, a sleepover for 10 children at famous toy store Hamleys and to have your car “pimped”.
Other celebrities in attendance at the event, that raised cash for the two worthy charities, included Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, tennis star Rusedski and ex-Liverpool footballer John Barnes.
Andrew said: “It was great fun auctioning alongside movie stars and sporting heroes.”
THE drawbacks of the pre-written press release came back to haunt Everton this week.
Club sponsor Chang schmoozed local restaurateurs and landlords at Liverpool One’s Chaophraya restaurant on Monday to increase brand awareness.
The club’s release, handed out at the start of proceedings, trumpeted that “over 60” were in attendance for a “ready steady cook” demo involving players Phil Jagielka and Leon Osman.
A quick glance around the room revealed, in reality, 15, at best.
What is our hospitality community coming to when they shun the offer of free beer.
