Trading Gossip: Liverpool One goes for the ‘natural’ look

ALL the fun of the fair was had by many at Liverpool One over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

But the fun had to end sometime and, during the dismantling of the fairground rides in Chavasse Park, Liverpool One put up a sign apologising for the temporary closure of the public green space.

The sign read: “We apologise for any disruption while we restore Chavasse Park to its natural beauty.”

We think it is stretching it to describe a piece of green space plonked on top of a multi-storey car park as “natural”, but we admire the ambition.

NOW everyone’s returned from their summer hols, we are likely to see a raft of networking events.

Joel Jelen, of Ubiquity PR, will hold one of his “Fish” networking events with a very special guest.

Mark Blankstone, of Blankstone Opticians, has arranged for a “spectacles legend” to give a talk at Sakura restaurant next Wednesday.

Oliver Goldsmith has been designing glasses for the rich and famous for decades.

These include the black-framed pair worn by Michael Caine and the “granny glasses” donned by John Lennon, above.

However, Mr Jelen reports some confusion among invitees.

He said: “I’ve had a few replies asking ‘what have glasses to do with fish?’”

Trading Gossip doesn’t get more surreal than this.
