Builders finish business park’s greenest building

DEVELOPER Riverside Park has completed what it claims is the region’s most energy efficient commercial buildings – Building 3, on Riverside Park, Wirral International Business Park .

The developer was keen to ensure the specification of Building 3 was designed to make it energy efficient and as such has successfully earned the new scheme an outstanding 41 rating Energy Performance certificate.

Building 3 is 30,000 sq ft of new commercial space and is divided into eight suites from 2,089 sq ft to 4,630 sq ft.

It includes renewable energy heating systems powered from the ground, recycled rainwater use, and the maximisation of solar energy. Breeam rated Very Good, the unit is finished to the same specification as Units 1 and 2.

The completion of the new building at Riverside Park follows a successful end to 2008, as, at the end of last year, joint agents Smith and Sons, and Mason Owen, announced two new lettings. Advisor Plus, which operates its national Service Delivery Centre from Riverside Park, took an additional 4,000 sq ft and now occupies 10,000 sq ft, and Wirral PCT also took an additional 4,300sq ft as home to its GP out-of-hours service call centre.

John Henley, Riverside Park managing director, said: “The completion of Building 3 is the next step forward in our aim to deliver Riverside Park, what we believe to be one of the most energy efficient and best business parks in the region.”

When fully complete, Riverside Park will provide 250,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation.

Current tenants include Lees Lloyd Whitley, Adviser Plus Business Solutions and Wirral Primary Care Trust Condition Management Programme.
