AGENTS at CB Richard Ellis have acquired a new distribution facility on behalf of Liverpool Football Club.
The deal, which completed this month, will see the Premier League team’s merchandising operation move to a warehouse and distribution unit over three times the size of its existing site in Bootle.
For security reasons the club is not revealing the exact location but the facility remains in Merseyside.
Liverpool FC instructed CBRE four months ago to advise on the move which has been secured at £2.75 per sq ft.
Jonathan Thorne, director of industrial agency at CBRE North West, said: “It has been fantastic to work with such a high profile client and we are pleased to have secured a deal so quickly. In a challenging market we have been able to negotiate a fantastic deal on a property which will allow the club to significantly expand its operations.”
Liverpool Football Club plans to be in its new premises by the end of the month, ready for the launch of the new European kit for next season.
Lee Dwerryhouse, head of retail at Liverpool Football Club, added: “As a Premier League club, Liverpool FC’s merchandise business is huge and demand for shirts, as well as other branded products, continues to grow. This has meant that our old premises are no-longer suitable for our operations.”
