6.30am: I’ve always been an early riser, as I have always commuted into Liverpool for work. Now I have an opportunity to have a morning catch-up with Tracy, my personal trainer.
Working in a place like Saints, fitness is all around you so I am inspired to work out twice a week. I have to say I do enjoy the early morning work-out.
8.30am: In the office, I catch up with my emails, and go into my first meeting of the day with our event organiser Yvonne, from Revellers Events.
We are planning celebrations for our last year at Knowsley Road, so there are lots of events we are working on for our fans.
The first one is at Hilton Liverpool in late summer – a ladies night where our players will take part in a fashion show by TM Lewin, and Philip Armstrong will showcase his new ladies collection. It looks like it will be a great event.
9.30am: I am in negotiation for the naming rights for our new stadium, so I have a telephone conference with a big advertising agency in London which has a number of clients it wants us to present to.
10.30am: I have a catch-up with Greg and Mike, from our marketing team, to discuss the Saints in the Community activity we have planned for the final year at Knowsley Road.
Our last game is on October 6. Once that is played we have a marquee going up on the pitch to allow fans to take part in a range of events to close the ground and celebrate its history, from a gala dinner with the legends of the team past and present, to a family day with face painters and entertainment.
12pm: The joy of working at Saints is that I am literally a stone’s throw from home, so I nip home for lunch and catch up with my son while he is home from school.
12.45pm: I am back to check in with my colleague, Andrea, who is helping to develop all of the key partner relationships for our new stadium.
We will have conference and banqueting facilities to cater for up to 500 people, with four restaurants and 12 boxes, so we are developing the marketing collateral for this.
It is so exciting to see the visualisations of the new stadium. I know we are just about to break ground, so to see how it will look is very exciting.
1.30pm: I have a meeting with Merseytravel. The new stadium is situated near to St Helens Central railway station, so we are developing a ticket deal which will allow people to get here from across the Liverpool city region.
As rugby is a game where you can still enjoy a beer while you watch the match, we want people to leave the car at home and make a night of it, so the deal with Merseytravel will be perfect.
2.30pm: I catch up with chief executive Tony Colquitt. We are finalising next season’s kit and a range of heritage merchandise, ready for a launch on June 1.
We are taking Saints on tour for a few games next season while we wait for the new ground to be complete,d so it is an opportunity to showcase St Helens across the Liverpool city region.
3.30pm: I touch base with my e-mails again as I am off to London tomorrow for a number of big meetings with potential partners and the sport’s broadcast partner, Sky.
4.30pm: Head into Liverpool to meet with Medicash, one of our lead partners, as they want to look at the best ways to develop their ongoing partnership with the club.
6pm: I’m off to Restaurant Bar and Grill for a glass of Pinot Grigio with Philip and Tony, from Philip Armstrong Couture, to discuss my outfits for all of the last year at Knowsley Road events.
