Danish fashion brand Vero Moda has opened a flagship store in Liverpool. Emma Pinch has a rummage through its racks

SCANDINAVIAN cool, in the form of Vero Moda, is the latest international fashion chain to open its doors in Liverpool, and it’s attracted a blizzard of interest from local fashionistas.
While prices are in a similar bracket to H&M and Mango, the clothing range’s Danish influences bring a fresh direction to the city’s burgeoning fashion scene.
Some items have already proved must-haves, such as the black, shiny Future X leggings, reportedly flying off the shelves at the Liverpool store the moment they arrive.

Autumn at Vero Moda is all about jewel green, purple and deep pink, with lots of feminine ruffles, wide sleeves and tulip hems to offset its key theme of 70s rock-chick studs and leather.
What people say distinguishes Vero Moda – which translates from the Italian as “true fashion” – is how details in the designs come to life when they’re put on.
THIS week’s fashion shoot took place in the polished Edwardian splendour of The Vines pub, in Lime Street.

The building, which is listed, dates from 1813 and is famous for its stained glass cupola and its magnificent function room, oak-lined and hung with imposing oil paintings.
The Vines, with its friendly staff, is ideal for respite from the shops for a real ale or heading to at the weekend to watch live bands. The function room is also available for hire for special occasions.
