Emma Pinch shows you how to put on the red carpet glitz

THIS week it’s all about red carpet glamour. Tonight’s MTV Europe awards will see a galaxy of A-list stars lighting up the Echo Arena, Liverpool, among them Beyoncé, a woman who knows a thing or two about traffic-stopping gorgeousness.

But even Queen B will have competition tonight. In the fight to stand out from the herd, and bathe in the attention of a thousand camera flashes, sequins, beads, gold, silver, plunging necklines and thigh skimming skirts are all weapons that can be employed. OK, even all together.

For red carpet make-up, we’ve plumped for screen goddess glamour: matt red lips, sheer skin, false eyelashes and flirty, flicked up eyeliner.

OUR photoshoot took place in the sumptuous surroundings of the Hope Street Hotel, on Hope Street.

Historic architecture, solid wood floors, and 48 bedrooms fitted out with king-size beds draped in Egyptian cotton, and underfloor heating and flatscreen TV, DVD and broadband make a weekend stay a luxurious experience.
