Evans have cleverly combined seasonal tints with a more vibrant palette for their latest collection, says Laura Davis

SUMPTUOUS kingfisher blues, candy pinks and bold purples feature in Evans’s AW08 collection, alongside a palette influenced by the autumnal countryside.
Textured floral prints and checks, tailored blazers and waistcoats, belted coats and pretty bow tops fit into the English eccentrics trend.

Christmas party dresses go back to black with an elegant Grecian empire line maxi dress to flatter fuller figures and an asymmetric black pleated batwing dress.
Designs are available in Sizes 14-32.

* THIS week’s fashion shoot took place at The Walker, where the John Moores Contemporary Painting Prize exhibition is currently on display.
Launched in 1957 by Littlewoods founder Sir John Moores, it is now one of the UK's most established art prizes.
Selected from more than 3,000 anonymous entries, the John Moores 25 exhibition of 40 works is now open until January 4, and features artist Peter McDonald’s painting Fontana, which was declared the winner of the £25,000 first prize.
