Nothing gets you in the mood for the festive do like a sparkly new dress. Laura Davis reports

WHETHER you’re dashing out straight from the office, via the ladies’ loos, or spending the afternoon being preened and powered you can’t beat the exciting feeling of pulling on a Christmas party dress.
Maybe it’s because it brings out the little girl in us, reminding us what it was like to wear something sparkly for a friend’s birthday.

Or maybe it’s just because we’re anticipating a good night ahead.

THE Hard Days Night Hotel is the grand setting for this week’s fashion shoot. The Grade II-listed building, which opened in February, maintains many of its original features, while creating a contemporary environment for guests.
The 110 bedrooms include the Lennon Suite, containing a white piano against a white backdrop complete with stunning views of the city centre.
