WITH temperatures so cold that you’re praying for leg-warmers to make a return, our thoughts turn to all things cosy.
Suddenly, that oversized cardigan you have been leaving at the back of the wardrobe in case it adds pounds to your hips starts to look very appealing.

But don’t fear – you don’t have to bury your figure beneath yards of cable knit to stay warm this winter. Invest in a classic coat and it’ll hopefully last you through at least a couple of years of the credit crunch.
* AS LIVERPOOL hands over its Capital of Culture title to Vilnius, in Lithuania, this weekend, this week’s fashion shoot is set in various locations around the city centre – from outside its historic buildings to the waterfront, where the “Transition” ceremony will take place.

From Naomi Campbell's charity auction at Grey Space to Stella McCartney's catwalk show at LIPA, Liverpool was as much Capital of Couture as Capital of Culture in 2008 – and long may it continue.
