West Coast glamour from Wallis with block colours, kaftans and silk.

Let Emma Pinch show you how to shine in style

HIGH octane Seventies glamour is a strong theme of many new spring/ summer collections, bringing a heady waft of California’s West Coast to our wardrobes.

Silk, in particular, is a big theme, in flowing off-the-shoulder shapes, plus bandeau tops and jewel-encrusted necklines.

Eastern influences also prevail, in the form of gold harem pants, bright ethnic-inspired jewellery and kaftans.

The hugely forgiving maxi dress, which enjoyed such popularity last year, is back with a vengeance, just waiting for a blast of California sun so we can bring the over-sized shades and shoulder bags out of temporary retirement.

THIS week’s fashion comes from the new collection at Wallis, situated at 2-3 Clayton Square Shopping Centre, Liverpool L1 1QR; tel: 0151 709 1710.
