THE Chester City manager Mark Wright is urging all the club’s supporters to attend Saturday’s match against fellow relegation candidates, AFC Bournemouth, at the Deva Stadium, in what many are viewing as City’s most important game for years.
Chester have gleaned two victories from their last three outings, and Wright is hoping that City fans will rally around and support the club at this crucial time.
He said: “Only one point separates us from Bournemouth, so this Saturday’s game is massive for both clubs.
“We can only play with what we’ve got and hopefully we’ll turn up on Saturday and give the same battling display we provided against Accrington last Monday.
“I feel that is vitally important that we get a lot of our supporters in the ground, so that our players can respond to that situation.
“The team seem to be more settled away from home, rather than when we play at home, which is a shame.”
Wright added: “I think we have got to start giving our supporters something to shout about. I am hoping that people from Chester will turn up in their droves, because our next three games are massive for the football club. I want to see Chester City staying in the Football League, because it took a lot of hard work to get the club here.”
The City manager is hopeful that the experienced Kevin Ellison can shake off the hamstring injury that re-occurred in Monday’s match at Accrington Stanley.
Meanwhile, City have signed a new kit supplier contract after lengthy negotiations with Vandanel.
The Vandanel contract is for three years, with the first team, reserves and Centre of Excellence teams all wearing the new kits.
Replica shirts will be available for City supporters to purchase in July.
