Creamfields fashion: What to wear when almost anything goes

HELP, I am having a fashion crisis. Come the weekend I will be dancing in a field and I have not got a thing to wear.

There is a VIP ticket with my name on it for the 11th Creamfields festival at Daresbury and while it may be the last big music event of the summer, in case you haven’t noticed the weather has started to turn decidedly wintry.

The problem is that rain or shine, festivals have me fashion-wise at least a couple of miles out of my comfort zone, my comfort zone being minidresses, ironed hair and five or six inch stilettos.

In case you are wondering, as my friend who turned up last year wearing over-the-knee platform boots discovered, none of this is appropriate attire for festivals.

I should probably add at this point that, despite Creamfields now being a two-day rave-up, I won’t be sleeping in a tent – not when my nice warm house is just down the road – so there are no washing issues (phew).

Last year was my first full Creamfields and from a fashion perspective, it was an eye opener. I saw everything from kilts and animal suits to bikinis, furry boots and about a thousand pink raver tutus… and that was just the men.
