CELEBRITY chef Marco Pierre White has handpicked a Liverpool-born man for the top job at his new West Lancashire restaurant.
Marco Pierre White At The Swan Inn, in Aughton, is the first business venture outside the south-east of England for the Hell’s Kitchen star.
Now he has personally appointed Liverpool-born David Thorneycroft to be general manager of the venue, which opens on Monday.
Mr Thorneycroft previously worked at White’s Wheeler’s Of St James Restaurant, in London.
He said: “Marco expects standards exceeding all others. Working at the coalface of his London venue was priceless and something which will benefit all of our staff.”
Mr Thorneycroft said the Swan Inn would offer what White terms “affordable luxury” to all.
He added: “The Swan Inn will offer affordable quality food in the relaxed ambience of a local inn.
“It is a venue for all occasions and we want guests to pop in for anything, whether it be a pint of beer, a bottle of Champagne, fish pie or a fillet steak.”
