Art is everywhere for online photographers, Laura Jones finds
BEAUTIFUL blue skies frame this week’s most arresting Flickr pictures.
Art imitates life in the first pair of images, Dream, by P3nno, and Untitled, by Framer's Intent.
Dream, taken on a D700 in Sutton Manor, shows the statue of the same name which was unveiled last year.
The concrete structure, created by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, stands out against the St Helens horizon as the sunlight drains away.
The 20m high artwork is shown dominating the skyline, with the delicate pastels also overpowered by its dark silhouette thanks to the angle of the photographer’s shot.
It’s a profile view mirrored on the opposite page in the untitled photograph by Framer’s Intent.
The bus passenger lost in his own world looks every inch the daydreamer in this candid shot.
His still, statuesque pose creates a moment of tranquillity during a bus ride.
Derek Hyamson’s photograph also captures a moment of stillness – albeit a more precarious one.
Human statue, on a pedestal, shows Frank Somdee, from Widnes, in St John's Gardens, frozen in time.
Once again the winter sky provides a dramatic backdrop to the “statue”.
In contrast, the final photographs capture movement.
I'd kill for an outfit like this! was taken by Flickr group member Alison Benbow, aka Radarsmum67, in Chinatown on a Canon Powershot SX200 IS camera.
The skater has become a live Christmas decoration as the Liverpool One shopping centre sees the start of the festive season.
Her footwear certainly suggests she won’t be staying still for long.
And our final picture, by Abi Booth, cheekily titled Oh. My. Dog! is another animated image.
The wonderful range of expressions on the three children’s faces adds a spontaneous charm to a completely candid image.
