Just as the new season heralds fresh styles of clothes, make up trends change at the same time, and it's important to keep up with them if you're serious about fashion.
As well as helping you to get the most from your wardrobe, cosmetics can radically change your whole appearance, so go for constantly updated looks which complement your style and your personality, as well as your facial features.
It seems that, at the moment, no-one can get enough of the natural look, and happily it suits a wide range of appearances and ages, drawing out natural beauty effortlessly. And it seems set to stay with us for the 2011 spring and summer season.
Use concealer to make your complexion appear flawless, with just a hunt of blusher to give your cheeks some definition, and perhaps a touch of mascara. Leave your lips nude, or add a subtle, natural looking shade, pressed rather than caked on. You could also add some neutral coloured eyeshadow.
But, especially for evening, you might want to think about using your make-up to recreate the timeless 'smoky eyes' look, or even going for something altogether more dramatic and flirty.
Hot eye shadow colours for the season include bold oranges, greens, pinks, greens and blues, the must-try colours to bring out the beauty of your eyes and generate attention. Cover your upper lashes with a black eyeliner and black mascara on the lower ones.
Fancy a change from nude lips? Another trend is to pucker up and brighten up with bright and vivacious, attention-grabbing shades, including red, violet, orange and hot pink. Try a matte version of any of these hues, finishing the outline with a lip pencil.
Make time for make up and put some thought into how it goes with your outfit and affects your overall appearance, and you'll soon be knocking em dead.
