Neil Caple
Neil Caple is a theatre and television dramatist with 30 years of acting experience.
Having trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama, he went on to perform theatre works in virtually every city throughout the UK and enjoy a wide variety of styles and types of production. These have ranged from making children’s television programmes in the Sierra Nevada Mountains to recording Greek Classics in Milton Keynes.
As a protagonist with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre, he has travelled the world, performing in such great cities as Tokyo, Vienna, Hong Kong, Madrid, Tai Pei, Melbourne and Brussels. A deep love of Shakespeare, which developed during college years, has lead to involvement in 15 different productions, covering 12 of Shakespeares’ cannon. Favourite parts include Romeo and Iago.
Extensive television work includes four years as a regular on the soap opera Brookside. Neil has appeared in several films, and also made more than 20 radio plays for Radio 4, appearing as a regular in the satirical radio show Weekending.
Current projects include the Merseyside Community Theatres production of Romeo & Juliet, which will mark his ninth production as director.
