Close Enough To Touch
WELCOME to our third ebook, created for the Liverpool Daily Post's online literary festival, LiveRead.
Close Enough To Touch is Liverpool playwright Fred Lawless' moving radio play on the sinking of the submarine Thetis.
The Thetis was built by Cammell Laird and sank during sea trials in Liverpool Bay in 1939. Only four of the crew escaped. The vessel was later salvaged and recommissioned as HMS Thunderbolt, only to be lost with all hands in 1943 when she was sunk by the Italian corvette Cicogna.
