FROM March 1-3, 2011, the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo ran a three day online literature festival celebrating the city's writers and writing in all its fictional forms - novels, poetry, plays, screenwriting and short stories by as yet unpublished local writers and major professional names.
LiveRead 2011 was the second annual online literature festival to be hosted by the Liverpool Daily Post & Echo websites, featuring author readings, live author interviews, art trail podcasts, a filmed book group, daily book giveaways and much more.
Readers supported the festival by submitting their poetry and short stories for inclusion in a series of e-books, by voting for what happens next in our three-part story Monsterocity and by interviewing authors live online.
This year's featured writers were: Blood Brothers, Shirley Valentine and Our Day Out writer Willy Russell, world renowned science fiction writer Stephen Baxter, Maghull-based Torchwood, Coronation Street and Brookside screenwriter John Fay, Daily Post columnist and romantic fiction author Jane Costello, Al’s Lads screenwriter and crime novelist Marc Gee and children's author Jon Mayhew.
All the content will remain on the website for readers to continue to enjoy. Click here for a list of what's on the site with links to each item.
See you next year!
