THEATRE: The first of the new Everyman/ Playhouse plays for 2008, Three Sisters on Hope Street, is a re-imagining of Chekhov’s Three Sisters, with the action moved from pre-revolution Russia to post World War II Liverpool. The three sisters here are part of a Jewish family suffering from the city’s postwar gloom and enjoying the proximity of an American airbase.
