FORMER full-time snooker player Sean Meo is now an established stand-up comedian, winning a Time Out award and appearing in TV ads for the Vauxhall Vectra. Among those joining him on this bill are Manchester-based “lugubrious surrealist” Mick Ferry and former City life Comedian of the Year Tony Burgess. THE final public event of the big British Dance Edition 2008 gathering finds three different contemporary dance companies performing, all big names in the British dance world – the Shobana Jeyasingh, Hofesh Shechter and Richard Alston dance companies. 7.30pm, Liverpool Empire. PAUL POTTS was the winner of the new television talent show Britain’s Got Talent, and remarkably he sang opera. Nessun Dorma was one of his big arias, repeated recently at the Royal Variety Show in Liverpool. He now returns to the city as part of his first solo tour. 7.30pm, Liverpool Empire. BARBARA DICKSON first came to prominence in the Willy Russell musical John, Paul, George, Ringo . . . and Bert at the Liverpool Everyman. WILLY RUSSELL has reworked his late 1970s comedy Stags and Hens for this new production, making it faster and funnier. The tale of a stag and hen party from the same wedding meeting up in a club, it is directed by former Liverpool Everyman artistic director Bob Eaton. 8pm, Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool. Tickets £15. VIN GARBUTT is a much in-demand performer on the folk scene, a singer/ songwriter who plays guitar and whistle, as well as delivering his witty songs in fine voice. THE Liverpool two-person dance/ theatre company, Momentum, is premiering its new Liverpool Culture Company commission Anima all this week from Tuesday.
