The tale of sex, obsession and football
TOP footballers and young female fans are at the heart of Liverpool writer Leigh Campbell’s "dark drama" Starstruck.
The story tells the tale of two teenage girls who become obsessed with a young football star and lure him into a caravan for a night of passion.
But things fail to play out quite how they imagined.
The story was first penned 10 years ago by Laurence Coriat who wrote also write Michael Winterbottom’s Wonderland, but has been re-written and adapted by Campbell.
Director Lindy Heymann said: "In many ways this film just couldn’t have been made anywhere other than Liverpool.
"It’s a film which has got a lot of heart, and I’m sure that will shine through."
Filming starts next month and the production team hope to use Liverpudlians as extras.
