FLICKR is, an image and video hosting website, and an online community platform which allows anyone to upload photos, and more recently videos, to their own homepage free of charge. Uploaded images can be tagged for simple browsing, collected into sets and commented on by browsers; they can also be publicly shared or kept private by the photogrphaer.
This month Flickr announced more than three bilion images were hosted on its site. The Daily Post's Flickr group was set up more than a year ago to allow people to share their images and videos that capture the events and scenes of the year with each other and with our in-print readers.
Friday's Daily Postcard is always taken by a member of our Flickr group, and every Monday we carry a seletion of images from the group.
