Lavish ballets heading for the Liverpool Empire

“At the circus, I was chosen to start my training as an equilibrist. Walking on a wire under the dome of the circus was one of the main tasks for an equilibrist, but when my father saw his four-year-old daughter balancing on a rope, admittedly only about a foot above the ground, he decided that dance is a much safer hobby for his child.”

And travelling around the world to do the job she loves makes work even more of a pleasure for Kristina.

“Meeting people from different countries, getting a feel of their culture is always exciting,” she says.

“The only downside to this is that we normally travel without our daughter, Alisa, and when we are away we miss her so much.

“I do not mind living out of suitcases at all, it is what any dancer has to do, but it makes the journey back home and awaiting seeing people dear to your heart, so very special.”

SWAN Lake and Coppelia are coming to the Liverpool Empire Theatre from Monday, February 9, to Saturday, February 14. For tickets and more information, contact the box office on 0844 847 2525.
