A "ONE-WOMAN show with attitude" takes to the Unity stage tomorrow night.
Alice Robinson is Not Ladylike is billed as a physical visual treat of spontaneous movement, multi- media, spoken word and thumping beats.
It tells the tale of Alice, who must fight to reclaim her life story before it’s too late; but which tunnel should she take when her waking hours are governed by the night and her vivid imagination is so highly seductive?
"The show is a result of over a year’s work and experimentation on the different roles an individual will play in society," says Alice.
"I have noticed that, if you do not create yourself, you will be created by your surroundings."
"In a world of self help where everyone wants to be famous can we make our mark and stay true to ourselves?
"The character Alice loves to escape from judgement to ignore the criticism and just be herself."
Alice Robinson – the real one – is the founder of Refresh Theatre, a Liverpool- based company which works across the North West using clown and physical theatre.
As well as training at Hope St Ltd, has a degree in performing arts and is circus trained.
Refresh plans to tour the show, perform the show around the North West and beyond, and is currently booking, but first of all it premieres at the Unity tomorrow at 8pm (tickets £6).
