TIME is running out to buy an original artwork from The Royal Standard’s quirky sale.
For the past month, prices have risen, plummeted and risen again, according to the whims of the Vauxhall Road art gallery.
The exhibition, Sale, is inspired by the recession and society’s obsession with retail therapy.
It has featured the work of more than 80 established and up-coming artists from Liverpool, the UK and Europe, all of whom have created work to be sold on a first come, first served basis.
Prices range from under £50 to upwards of £1,000, and there are also “Bogof” prices, more familiar on supermarket shelves than in the art world.
Sale closes at 6pm on Saturday, with an afternoon of product demonstration talks by some of the artists involved, including Adam Goodge, Cathy Wade, Hayley Lock, Matt Foster and Laurence Payot.
