Liverpool swing singer launches first album

LIVERPOOL swing- singer Asa Murphy has launched his first album in response to his sell-out concert at the Philharmonic Hall.

The album, called Alive and Swinging, includes many of his favourite songs from the swing era, backed by his musical director Danny Mannix and his Big Band.

Asa completed a series of high-profile concerts in 2008, which also included singing at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in Soho (receiving a standing ovation) and performing at Coleen McLoughlin’s hen- party in Manchester’s Lowry Hotel.

"The album is a celebration of my live act," says Asa, who lives with his wife, Kelly, and their two children in Maghull. "It includes some of the most requested songs from the last few years of performing around the world."

He will appear on Sunday, May 10, at Maghull Town Hall, tickets on 0151 283 4307 or 0151 929 2727, and he’s at La Barbacoa, in Crosby, on Friday, May 8.

Asa’s album is available at www.asasings.com. He will also appear at Beatles Day, in Liverpool, on July 10.
