Mickey Mouse magic show comes to ECHO Arena - PLUS win family tickets

Mickey's Magic Show

IF EVERY husband had the ability to saw his wife in half, you would imagine women up and down the country returning to their traditionally subservient roles. But, fortunately for Adina Moore (and for Women’s Lib), her husband is able to put her back together again totally unblemished.

The couple, who met while performing in Japan, star in Mickey’s Magic Show, which visits the Echo Arena Liverpool next weekend.

Fred Moore, a professional illusionist, plays the role of one of master magician Mickey Mouse’s apprentices. His wife, a Romanian dancer, is a magic assistant.

“I’m glad to be back in a country that mainly speaks English,” he confesses. The cast have to learn their lines in numerous languages, depending on where the show is touring.

“There are times when we’ll finish up in Greece on Sunday and we’ll open on Wednesday in the Netherlands, so we basically have two days to learn all the lines in Dutch,” Moore continues.

“What makes it difficult, too, is you can’t really respond if something different happens.”

To get around this problem, a performer native to the country acts as host.

But, wherever Mickey’s Magic Show is playing, all the favourite characters are there – Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy, as well as the more glamorous creations Snow White, Belle, Ariel, Cinderella and Princess Jasmine, who is made to levitate during one of the grand illusions.

“We take the classic Disney stories and bring them to life so you see Cinderella transform from wearing rags to a beautiful ballgown and a pumpkin carriage appears,” explains Moore.
